I watched Brave for the second time recently and, while I was disappointed the first time I saw it in theaters, I liked it much better this time around and the story has really begun to grow on me and I'm starting fall in love with it.

You might notice me trying out new style and techniques based around some of my favorite artists for a while because I'm working on stretching the creative muscles and stepping out of my comfort zone. The design style in the piece was inspired by the amazing Shoomlah's Toile designs: [link]
I was going to use a different secondary color, but gold seemed to be the only one that universally combined well with all the other colors :/ and I also decided to keep Merida's hair red since its such a symbolic part of not only her character but the movie

Interesting story, in the original version of the film, before being changed to what it is now, she was gonna chose Young MacGuffin. In the newer revamped version of the story, in the end of the film there was a cut scene where she was going to show interest in him, but due to his Doric dialect, she would express disappointment in not being able to understand him.

So that very bottom image came VERY close to being canon.

yup, in the original plot of the film, that is untill they decided she was going to chose to remain single, and even then, they still wanted the couple to be hinted at in a scene that was sadly cut.

Personally I think Young MacGuffin and Merida would have made a cute couple.
