So I FINALLY finished the Style exercise! It was so fun! I couldn’t stahp!

This time around I practiced with the style of the AMAZING Nargyle: [link]

Everything this woman draws is fun and interesting to look at. I love the way she uses angles and curves to compliment and work with one another. It gives her designs a very unique silhouette.

I had originally thought I didn’t have much to learn from a style like Nargyle’s simply because her designs were so different from my own. But now having done this exercise, I’ve realized just HOW much I can soak up from her art.

She is a MASTER of body language, her characters always have this delicious sense of movement and her action poses are so fluid and dynamic. I once read in Tom Bancroft’s Creating Characters with Personality (excellent book btw) about how important “pushing” you’re design to its full potential is. And I can think of no other artist that pushes their characters to the brink of awesome like Nargyle does!

Least to say, Nargyle is amazing and if your aren’t already watching her than you should get on it because you WON’T regret it. Of all my favorite artists, I’d like to see her art style animated the most.

Also I REALLY need to do more action stuff, because its the cat’s pajamas

Ah yes, Volendrung my favorite vanilla two handed weapon. Would be awesome if we actually can use the 2h weapons with magic but nope, it will be too OP.

Why in the name of Talos couldn't we actually play the lute in game? The animation already exists for it, and you can even join the Bards College, and all you get is another dungeon fetch quest, a laughable and pointless excuse for a "festival" and some painfully bad singing. Once again, Bethesda dropped the ball on this. Skyrim - wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.

Ok, it's driving me nuts: What armor set is that??? I feel I should know this, but my girl never wears the heavy stuff. It's not the Ancient Nord set, is it?

You should definitely do more action, this is sexy as hell. I wouldn't mind seeing more dragons, too! >w< I've taken to making up dragon characters (complete with names) to be paired with my OCs, similar to what you have with Odahviing in-game. Err, but I digress.

I friggin' love your Skyrim stuff.

Dragons are hard to draw ><
I still have to get the hang of them before I draw them more regularly

S'cool, I can understand that, yeah they are. =w=

By the way, have I ever told you that your stuff is my favorite Skyrim fanart ever? ;w;
I need to sketch something halfway acceptable of my Dovahkiin so I can beg you to draw him.
(It's weird, I actually have experience drawing reptiles but Argonians are really hard for me for some stupid reason.)

Having looked at her work, I can safely say that she's indeed worthy of the praise you've been giving her.

However, as much as I admire your attempts to emulate her work, I must say that I've always liked the style you use already. It's good to aspire to the kinds of things others do if you like them, but you should take pride in the quality art you've already done.
